Why Retro Trivia?
You know what I love about retro trivia? When it takes you back.
My favorite trivia questions:
- Feel easy to someone who lived it, but are a head scratcher for someone who didn't.
- Make you go, "Oh yeah!"
When you go, "Oh yeah," I want it to be about something that is strongly associated with a particular decade.
The "Soup Nazi" is pure 90s. "Max Headroom" is pure 80s. People that didn't live it have no idea what the heck these things are, or what they mean.
This app is for Gen-Xers, made by Gen-Xers. Not all of us remember the 1960s, even if we were born then. But everyone knows the 60s. They loom large — the music, the movies, the Cold War shenanigans. So even if you can't go "Oh yeah, I remember that," you can still go "Oh yeah, I know that."
Right?
You know what? I didn't start out to make a retro trivia game. That just happened. You can read the origin story here:

I'm glad this is how it worked out, though. Apps for Gen-X are few and far between. Which is lame, because we are unique.
There was something special about being alive when the analog world got replaced by the digital one. We went to the mall to buy stuff — or just to hang out. We interacted with humans, get this, face-to-face.
I want this app to have that hang-out-at-the-mall feeling. Plus those "Oh yeah!" moments, even if they're fleeting. I want it to feel human and real.
Yes, I see the irony. But here we are.
I hope when you play this you feel a little nostalgic. A little connected. I hope you can feel that the questions are human-written, and that this thing has soul.
If you can, spread the word. PEACE! ✌️
